Adding woodland whimsy to your home and garden

About

I am an eclectic artist with a special place in my heart for fiber. My greatest loves are felting and spinning wool to create fiber sculptures and wearable art pieces, but I also draw, paint, sculpt, create jewelry, knit, crochet, and weave.

I combine my love of making with my love of plants and growing things. I have a small garden heading toward homestead with over a dozen fruit trees, a vegetable garden, and an herb garden that gives me both culinary and medicinal plants alongside dye plants that I use in making my fibers. I also grow a plethora of indoor plants to share in the hopes that I can leave this place a little greener than I found it.

Stewardship of the earth is central to my business and personal life, so I create with an eye toward regenerating and responsible use of resources. Many of the natural materials I use, like the wreaths, are sustainably harvested from my own property and handwoven. Others are responsibly foraged. The wool I use is from local shepherds, which I get either raw straight off the animal or in partnership with another artist who specializes in dyeing. I spend much of my summer washing, picking, and carding or combing whole fleeces before spinning or felting them. I am a member of the Genesee Valley Handspinners Guild and am always learning from others. If you want to talk fiber, don’t hesitate to send me a line!
